- Application deadlines
All applicants are encouraged to apply as early as possible to ensure availability of a place and a timely decision on their application. This is particularly important for applicants with sponsorship deadlines.
We strongly advise that you apply early as popular programmes will close earlier than the stated deadline if they become full.
The final closing dates for all taught Master’s applications for entry in the 2025/26 academic year is:
- Sunday 27 July 2025 at 23:59 UK time for all students requiring a Student visa
- Sunday 31 August 2025 at 23:59 UK time for all UK, Irish and non-Student visa students.
Applicants will be required to meet the conditions of their offer and provide all necessary documents by the date of their Offer of Admission.
Deadline for responding to your offer
Applicants are required to respond to their Offer of Admission within 28 days of receipt, or their place will be released and the offer automatically declined. Please note that payment of a £500 deposit becomes payable within this period upon acceptance. It is deductible from tuition fees upon full registration with LSHTM.

Our application guidance is designed to help you complete each step of LSHTM’s online application form. We recommend that you refer to the instructions at each stage of the application process.
- Application submission
Receipt of your application
You will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application within 24 hours of submission. We strongly recommend that you check your email settings before applying to ensure that "@lshtm.ac.uk" email addresses are not blocked or sent to your spam or junk email folders.
If you have not sent all of the required supporting application documents that we require to make a decision, we will contact you to provide information on the outstanding documentation. Please send this documentation to us as soon as possible in order to ensure processing of your application is not delayed. Please ensure you quote your application reference number in all correspondence with the Admissions team.
If you have not yet completed your academic or English language qualifications, and your academic profile meets our requirements, we will normally be able to make you an offer which is conditional on completing these qualifications. You will need to provide evidence that you have met these conditions before your offer can be made unconditional.
Application Decision
Our Admissions team will carefully check each application to ensure that all requested supported documentation has been submitted. Once confirmed, the application will then be forwarded to the relevant Programme Director for academic assessment and a final decision. We aim to make a decision within 6 weeks from receipt of a complete application.
- Application fee
A standard non-refundable application fee of £50 applies to all taught Master’s degree programmes and is payable upon application submission. Income generated from the application fee is shared between scholarships and student hardship fund.
- Tuition fee deposit
Applicants are required to respond to their Offer of Admissions and pay the £500 deposit within 28 days of receipt, or their place will be released and the offer automatically declined. The deposit is deductible from tuition fees upon full registration with LSHTM.

- Applying to more than one programme?
It is possible to apply for up to two Master's degree programmes, in order of preference. However, please consider your choices carefully and ensure that your personal statement is relevant to both of your choices. Applicants are only permitted to hold one Offer of Admission.

LSHTM uses a contextualized admissions system that encourages staff to consider the challenges prospective students have overcome during their education. We particularly welcome applicants who self-identify as belonging to any of the following groups as they are under-represented both at LSHTM and at the postgraduate level more broadly:
