Mental Health, Stigma and NTDs – new research and launch of a special supplement
Since the earliest references to what are now termed Neglected Tropical Diseases, the human suffering and social exclusion associated with them has been noted. However, formal research is needed to underpin an evidence base for the WHO Roadmap on NTDs that asserts the importance of a holistic, person-centred approach to prevention, care and support for people affected by NTDs.
The Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene’s International Health journal , is being launched at this special event, which will be a forum for researchers and leaders in the field to share their work, and provide an opportunity to hear about the exciting progress in bringing policy and practice in endemic countries in line with this paradigm shift.
At this event, you will hear expert speakers including contributors to the supplement, followed by a panel discussion.
