LGBTQ+ Network
The LGBTQ+ Network at LSHTM is open to all LGBTQ+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning and other sexual orientations) staff, students and allies. The network holds a hybrid meeting on the first Wednesday of each month, with further details available on the network’s intranet page or Teams site. Equity Diversity and Inclusion within LSHTM
LSHTM follows several guiding principles in relation to EDI, with one principle being specific to LGBTQ+: Being proactive in championing LGBTQ+ equality worldwide.
LGBTQ+ inclusion, from a governance perspective, is demonstrated though the School’s EDI strategy, action plan and its policies and procedures, such as the gender reassignment and trans equality policy. LGBTQ+ travel guidance
LGBTQ+ travel guidance has been developed as a resource for members of LSHTM are travelling abroad or who are providing line management or academic supervision to LGBTQ+ individuals who travel abroad.
LGBTQ+ parents and carers
LSHTM is a member of the charity , the UK’s work-life balance charity, who help working parents and carers - and their employers - find a better balance between responsibilities at home and in the workplace. They provide free legal advice to parents and carers on their rights at work as well as giving employers the tools they need to support their employees while creating a flexible, high-performing workforce.
Additionally, we have a (intranet) with a dedicated Teams site.

Stonewall Diversity Champion
We are a which celebrates the fact we are committed to working to support staff who are LGBTQ+. Partnering with Stonewall allows us to access external expertise; ensuring policies, procedures and general practice are in line with the most equitable approaches for the LSHTM community. This is particularly crucial within the global environment LSHTM operates in, which has varying levels of tolerance for LGBTQ+ individuals.
Employee Assistance Programme
LSHTM has partnered with Health Assured EAP to provide staff access to an independent and confidential support and services network. There are a number of LGBTQ+ resources available, amongst the general offering. Existing LSHTM staff can find out more about the (intranet).
