Educational/professional background

I am a public health professional with experiences in clinical and public health research. Currently, I serve as a grant writer at Aga Khan University Pakistan. I earned my MSc Public Health as a Chevening Scholar at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Following my graduation, I worked as a research manager with an NGO in Pakistan developing and managing projects aimed at improving maternal and child health (MNCH) outcomes in underserved communities. Prior to that, I completed my master's in healthcare management from Dow University of Health Sciences (DUHS) and my undergraduate degree at ZiaUddin Medical University in Karachi, Pakistan.

I have also worked on clinical trials for RSV vaccines. Additionally, my internship with the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET) allowed me to collaborate closely with the CDC on the implementation and evaluation of field epidemiology training programs (FETPs) across more than ten countries. I am passionate about noncommunicable disease research and evidence-based public health solutions that drive meaningful change.

What I enjoyed most about studying my programme/at LSHTM?

What I enjoyed most about studying at LSHTM was the opportunity to engage with a diverse cohort of students from various cultural and professional backgrounds. This rich tapestry of perspectives enhanced my learning experience, allowing for meaningful discussions and collaborations that deepened my understanding of public health challenges on a global scale. Additionally, the exceptional faculty at LSHTM played a pivotal role in my education. Their expertise and commitment to research and teaching inspired me to think critically and pushed me to explore innovative solutions to complex health issues.

Beyond academics, I also cherished the vibrant social life at LSHTM, particularly the parties and events that brought everyone together. These gatherings fostered a sense of community, allowing us to celebrate our achievements and build lasting friendships. I found great friendships that I believe will last a lifetime. Overall, the combination of a dynamic learning environment and enriching social experiences made my time at LSHTM truly transformative.

What I have been doing since graduating

After graduating, I returned to Pakistan, where as a Manager Research with an NGO I worked on research and implementation of maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) projects. Currently, I am working at Aga Khan University Pakistan as a grant writer. Since graduation, I have also made it a priority to travel and explore the world, enriching my personal and professional perspectives along the way.
