Educational/professional background

I am a third-year ophthalmology resident at Sheba Medical Center, Israel鈥檚 largest hospital, and co-founder of Sheba Global Ophthalmology, the first academic center in the country focused on advancing global eye health equity. I graduated as valedictorian from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology, earning my MD with summa cum laude honors.

Research interests or career goals

My research focuses on global ophthalmology and eye health, particularly in under-resourced settings. As clinical coordinator for the Global Retinoblastoma Outcome Study, I have contributed to knowledge on treatment outcomes for high-risk retinoblastoma, a critical area in pediatric eye care. I am dedicated to fostering collaborative networks and developing sustainable programs to improve access to care. My goal is to lead initiatives that drive systemic change in global eye care, strengthen partnerships, and promote equity through innovative research and capacity-building efforts.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose LSHTM for its global reputation and mission to combat inequities in eye care. The MSc Public Health for Eye Care program offers a unique combination of academic rigor and practical tools. As the first Israeli participant, I aim to bring these skills back to Israel and the Middle East to drive lasting, impactful change.
