I am an MSc Public Health by Distance Learning student at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), where I have been studying since October 2023. A proud Ghanaian living and working in Ghana, I am currently an optometrist at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital. My professional journey began at the University of Cape Coast, where I completed my training in optometry.
Research interests or career goals
During my undergraduate studies, my research focused on evaluating Ghana鈥檚 progress in achieving the goals of the VISION 2020: The Right to Sight initiative. This work fuelled my passion for public health and inspired me to explore innovative ways to enhance community healthcare delivery. My ambition is to use my postgraduate education to advance eye care and strengthen healthcare systems in Ghana and other developing countries.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
LSHTM has provided the ideal platform for me to pursue these aspirations. The flexibility and excellence of the distance learning program allow me to balance my studies with my professional responsibilities seamlessly. I am eager to share my experience and guide prospective students in navigating this program to achieve success.
