Contact Emma SingerEducational/professional background
I just finished my undergraduate degree in Global Public Health with a minor in Data Science at the University of Virginia. During my undergraduate, I worked on a systematic review of controlled medicines policy. I also did some project management work around the federal health insurance Marketplace and health equity.
Research interests or career goals
I am interested in the design and evaluation of public health programs, specifically in the areas of substance use and healthy places. I am particularly interested in understanding and evaluating the implementation of programs.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
Coming from studying MSc Public Health, a one-year program (although intense) really appealed to me! After talking to mentors, professors, and students and alumni from LSHTM, I decided on LSHTM rather than doing a longer MPH in the US. The school’s reputation and network were big factors in my decision. The diversity of the student body also really stood out, you really learn so much from other student’s perspectives and experiences.
