Over the past years, I鈥檝e had the privilege of participating in the HIV Vaccine Trials conducted by the Uganda Virus Research Institute in partnership with the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative. I have also worked as a Pharmaceutical Microbiologist. These career opportunities solidified my interest in building a successful career in Clinical Trials so I can contribute to improving the quality of clinical research in Uganda and globally.
Research interests or career goals
My research interests lie in HIV/AIDS related research, exploring new drug products for chronic conditions (communicable and noncommunicable), health equity advocacy especially for marginalized communities and integrating clinical research with clinical practice. As I advance in my MSc Clinical Trials, my interests may continue to evolve.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
Being able to study at LSHTM has always been a dream, from when I first realized I was passionate about a career in scientific research during my undergraduate study. LSHTM has a loud contribution to scientific research in Africa but also a global reputation as the highest ranked public health university. During my first month of study, not only have I marveled at the countless possibilities I have been exposed to, but also got to engage with the vibrant community.
Extra information
I am available for information regarding scholarships available at LSHTM- I am privileged to be a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholar and I鈥檓 happy to share my experience regarding scholarship applications.
I can also advise on transitioning into a career in clinical trials as I am currently walking the same path. I am happy to help out.
