Welcome to Nutrition for Global Development, a free open-access educational resource, supported by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Wellcome Trust.
This Master's-level module has been designed to explore the complicated problem of malnutrition in all its forms, highlighting its multi-sectoral causes, exploring the available evidence and identifying potential solutions.
What topics will you cover?
The new module includes sessions on:
- The causes and consequences of malnutrition in all its forms
- Nutritional requirements across the lifecycle
- The importance of food system perspectives
- The relationship between nutrition and climate change
- Nutrition in humanitarian and fragile contexts
- Multi-sectoral interventions to tackle the global malnutrition burden.
The module has been written by a team of academics from the Nutrition Group at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine with important inputs from experts at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and several other partner organisations.

This course is designed for students and professionals with an interest in malnutrition in all its forms.
How long will it take to complete the course?
This is a self-directed learning course and we estimate that it will take 3-5+ hours to complete each of the 7 sessions depending on how deeply you engage with the additional reading.
Assessment
This course will not be assessed and there will be no certificate of attendance provided.
