The Centre for Epidemic Preparedness and Response (CEPR), proudly part of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), is a growing specialist Centre, established to bring together global expertise, knowledge, research and teaching to help humanity adapt faster to outbreaks of disease.

Centre membership

The Centre welcomes two types of members: 

  • LSHTM/MRC Unit staff and students – individuals (staff and students) from within the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, including Distance Learning staff and students and those at the MRC Units in the Gambia and Uganda, with an interest in pandemics and epidemic preparedness and response

     

  • Non-LSHTM members – individuals from external organisations or the general public with an interest in pandemics and epidemic preparedness and response

Membership benefits

Depending on the type of membership, you will gain access to specific benefits:

LSHTM staff/student members

  • Join the Centre’s mailing list to receive:
    • Regular news updates about pandemic and epidemic related work being carried out by researchers within the Centre for Epidemic Preparedness and Response and more broadly across LSHTM and MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM 
    • Quarterly Centre newsletter highlighting exciting news and the latest research from the field of epidemic preparedness and response
    • Regular postings of job opportunities and events including talks by leading global experts and academic discussions on the interdisciplinary challenges of epidemics
  • Promote your research and raise your profile throughout LSHTM in London and the MRC Unit in The Gambia at LSHTM
    • Potentially gain recognition for your work through the Centre’s annual Research Awards
    • Regular networking events and opportunities for multidisciplinary collaboration throughout LSHTM and the MRC Unit The Gambia at LSHTM
    • Use the Centre for Epidemic Preparedness and Response identity as an aid in funding applications, on academic papers and posters, and for conference presentations
    • Showcase your research and raise your professional profile in the field of epidemic preparedness and response thanks to dedicated support from Communications Officers and a Centre Support Team with blogs, social media, media engagement and in-person/hybrid events and networking opportunities

    • Access to Early Career Researcher Fellowships schemes such as the Peter Piot Fellowship
