World TB Day Symposium 2019

The 2019 World TB Day symposium is taking place on Friday 22nd March. The London symposium is now in its tenth year and we are delighted that it will be held, for the first time, at the Francis Crick Institute. The event is a collaboration between the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UCL and the Francis Crick Institute. A full programme will be available soon.

The symposium is always oversubscribed and therefore, due to venue capacity restrictions, we are offering three registration options as follows:

Option 1: morning session only, 09:30-12:45* (includes first lunch sitting at 12:15-12:45)
Talks in the morning will focus mainly on antibiotic resistance and host response to infection. Those registering for the morning only will be offered the first lunch sitting.

Option 2: afternoon session only, 13:00-17:15* (includes second lunch sitting at 13:00-13:30)
Talks in the afternoon will focus mainly on measuring, understanding and tackling the determinants of TB mortality. Those registering for the afternoon only will be offered the second lunch sitting.

Option 3: all day registration, 09:30-17:15*
Delegates who register for the full day will be allocated a lunch sitting according to availability, however if you have a specific sitting request, please state this when you register.

From 17:15 to 18:30 there will be a drinks reception in the hospitality area where you will have the chance to catch up with friends and colleagues, old and new.

We very much hope that you will be able to join us on the day, and look forward to another great symposium.

For those unable to attend in person, we will once again be live streaming the talks online and the link will be advertised closer to the date of the event.

*please note that all times are subject to change. Each lunch sitting is 30 minutes and delegates will be asked to ensure that they adhere to their allocated sitting, due to capacity regulations in the hospitality area. For the rest of the lunch break, delegates who wish to remain at the venue can visit an exhibition in the Crick gallery or return to the auditorium, but please note that food and drink cannot be taken into the auditorium. We have introduced this system in an effort to ensure that as many people as possible can attend the symposium, and that nobody goes hungry!
