[WEBINAR] Neisseria gonorrhoeae genomics and antibiotic resistance

Dr Yonatan Grad (Harvard T.H. Chan)
Dr Yonatan Grad, Harvard T.H. Chan

N. gonorrhoeae is one of the most common bacterial pathogens globally, with rapidly increasing incidence and antibiotic resistance. Without new clinical and public health strategies to decrease the burden of disease and slow and control the spread of resistance, we face the imminent threat of treatment resistant infections.

Yonatan will discuss their work integrating N. gonorrhoeae population genomics and molecular microbiology methods to define genes and alleles that increase and modulate the extent of resistance as well as our work exploring the surveillance that would be needed to maintain the sensitivity of genotype-based diagnostics.

About the speaker
