​​Ubuntu Hub Shared Learning Seminar Series: Engaging Fathers in child disability programmes​

First in a new series of seminars to engage those working in early child disability including the LSHTM ‘Ubuntu Hub’ global community of practice.

This webinar is the first in a new series of seminars providing shared learning on care and support for children with disabilities and their families.  This will be an engaging one hour online webinar exploring the importance of fathers in child disability programmes and how to facilitate paternal engagement.  In January’s webinar we will be reflecting on the important role of fathers in child disability programmes and explore best practice in paternal engagement.

This event is open to everyone with interest or experience in implementing programmes for children with developmental disability and their caregivers and will share learning from the Ubuntu Hub programmes.  

The webinar will include two short presentations by practitioners working in East Africa who will share their expertise and experiences. This will be followed by a Q&A and facilitated discussion on ways to promote paternal engagement.  

Attendees will learn and share ideas on: 

  1. Why engaging fathers in disability programmes is important 

  1. Explore strategies used to engage fathers in Baby Ubuntu implementation partners in Uganda and Rwanda 

  1. Have the opportunity to share ideas and learning on new and innovative ways to engage fathers 

  1. Discuss next steps in terms of Ubuntu Hub fathers engagement strategy
