MHR@30: Celebrating 30 years of maternal and newborn health research.
In 1989, LSHTM launched one of the first research units dedicated to maternal health in low-and middle-income countries. Please join us for an evening lecture and discussion highlighting 30 years of gains made in maternal and newborn health and the implications for the future. Co-founders of the research group, Professors Wendy Graham, Oona Campbell, and Veronique Filippi, will reflect on how programmatic priorities have evolved and the urgent research questions still to be answered in maternal and newborn health.
Following our key note speakers, Prof Joy Lawn of the MARCH Centre will moderate a dynamic discussion with representatives from the MRC – Jill Jones, and DFID –Will Niblett, exploring the influence of the funding landscape on the evolution and future of maternal and newborn health research.
