A Recipe for A Net Zero Food System
Join us for a conversation between key organisations working on sustainable food systems!
This event is co-hosted by LSHTM Centre on Climate Change & Planetary Health and the , the food sharing app.
This event will highlight the priority areas where change can contribute to a net zero future of food, such as tackling waste in the current food system and switching to healthy sustainable diets.
Presentations will be followed by an interactive discussion with the panelists and audience, addressing issues such as: What are the key priorities for a net zero future? What can we learn from cities around the world? How will we target both sustainability and food poverty?

Jo is co-founder of Social Enterprise, the creators of digital products to help people live sustainably. The free Giki Badges app helps find sustainable and healthy products in the UK supermarket. Giki Zero, provides an interactive, step by step guide to a sustainable life, with a Pro version for organisations. Previously Jo was an investigative journalist at the BBC and Channel 4, before joining the Executive Board at CDP, the climate change charity.

Krysia is the Project Manager: Soil Depletion And Land Use at . She has a background in economics, energy and environmental policy. She works to ensure food waste and sustainable diets are prioritised by policy makers. Legislating on food waste will help us meet our climate change targets. She also works on land use policy and the unintended consequences of anaerobic digestion facilities. Current incentives for Anaerobic Digestion mean valuable resources and edible food are being directed away from the food system, with potential consequences for land use change elsewhere.

Rosie is an Associate Professor in Sustainability, Nutrition and Health at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. The focus of her work is on the links between nutrition, environment and health, particularly identifying dietary changes that would be positive for human health and the planet.

Ruth co-ordinates ’s work on the Climate and Nature Emergency, working to make food a key part of policies to tackle the climate and nature emergency at a local and national level. Ruth has also co-ordinated the Sustainable Fish Cities campaign for over six years. The campaign encourages businesses to adopt a fully sustainable fish policy, and thereby help transform the way the world's oceans are fished.
- Anne-Charlotte Mornington (OLIO)

Anne Charlotte Mornington was introduced to a few months after inception and has been part of the team ever since. Her focus is on international expansion, partnership and special projects. After instigating OLIO communities in Sweden, California and Mexico, she recently obtained an Innovate UK grant to develop a food poverty map to help Local Authorities address the rising challenges connected to hunger during the current pandemic.

This event is chaired by Anna Taylor. Anna Taylor OBE is the Executive Director of the . Prior to that, she worked at the Department for International Development (DFID), Save the Children and Unicef, as well as at the UK Department of Health. She is a member of the London Food Board, and joined the Board of the International Food Policy Research Institute in Washington DC.

Helen White is a Special Advisor at . She works with food retailers, manufacturers and brands engaging with citizens to reduce food waste and is WRAP’s spokesperson on household food waste, appearing on The One Show, Food Unwrapped, Secrets Of Your Supermarket Food and Recycling Is It A Con? as well as countless local BBC radio stations. She has played a key role in defining WRAP’s approach to citizen food waste prevention and developing Love Food Hate Waste, and is part of WRAP's behaviour change interventions team.
