International Day of Persons with Disabilities: Reflections from academia

It is estimated that one in seven people globally has a disability, yet there is an under-representation of academic staff with disabilities, chronic conditions and neurodiversity. In this panel discussion, hosted by the International Centre for Evidence in Disability, we will hear from staff at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine on their experiences and reflections of disability in the academic workplace, and how we, as an academic community, can support people with disabilities into the field.

Each panellist will provide their own reflections, and we will then open the floor to questions from the audience. If you are unable to attend, and have any specific questions to ask, we’d welcome these prior to the event; please email these to nathaniel.scherer@lshtm.ac.uk.
