Exploring the synergies between WASH and vaccination

WASH and vaccines

The links between water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and vaccination have important implications for public health policy and programming. Two areas in particular are important; the possible link between poor WASH and vaccine effectiveness and the currently under-utilised opportunity to integrate hygiene promotion with vaccination campaigns.

At this event, you will hear presentations from experts in the WASH and vaccination fields about these areas. We will then facilitate a panel discussion around the opportunities, barriers and priorities for better coordination between the WASH and vaccines sectors. Questions from the audience are encouraged.

Speakers giving presentations and taking part in the panel discussion will include researchers, staff from WHO, members of the Global Taskforce for Cholera Control, WaterAid and the Nepalese Government.

Speakers:

  • (Queen Mary University London)
  • Laura Nic Lochlainn (WHO)
  • Bhim Singh Tinkari (Nepalese Government)
  • Monica Ramos (Global Task Force for Cholera Control)
  • Malika Bouhenia (Global Task Force for Cholera Control)
  • Om Gautam (WaterAid)

You are all invited to join us, continuing conversations at the drinks reception in the South Courtyard afterward.
