In this talk, Tom will discuss bioethics, with particular reference to disability.  He will introduce the famous ‘Four Principles’ approach, and highlight how Global South may have a different emphasis in ethics than philosophers in high income countries.

He will review work to promote ethics review boards in Southern countries, and to apply ethical principles to humanitarian settings.  He will conclude by exploring how bioethics has responded to the challenge of disability.
