I specialise in the anthropology of gender, masculinity and health and have been conducting ethnographic research in Central Asia since 2015 and in Ethiopia since 2024. My anthropological approach delves into gender dynamics and social inequalities, with an emphasis on engaging men and boys, alongside women, to promote health and well-being in a global context. My forthcoming book, Voyage to Manhood in the ‘New Uzbekistan’: Tashkent Dreams, is under contract with Amsterdam University Press and due for publication in 2025.
