I am a sociologist interested in the social and cultural dimensions of health, with a particular interest in understanding and bringing in the perspectives of marginalized populations. I work with the Policy Innovation and Evaluation Research Unit (PIRU) conducting national evaluations of health and social policies in the UK. I also lead PIRU鈥檚 Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE). In addition, I am a co-investigator on the mixed-method impact and implementation evaluation of the 鈥淧harmacy First鈥 Services.

I co-organise Sexual Health MSc module, in conjunction with Mitzy Gafos and Pippa Grenfell. The module takes a critical, social approach to understanding sexual health and looks at how laws, politics, social controls, norms, inequalities and injustices affect possibilities for sexual health to be understood and realised.
