Dedicated to advancing the health and well-being of marginalised and underserved communities, my career in health and development is driven by the challenge of improving access to crucial health services. My passion lies in advocating for sexual and reproductive health and rights, complemented by robust leadership, management, and research capabilities.
My specialised knowledge on issues related to HIV, STIs and sexual and reproductive health (SRH), my focus centres on the SRH and rights of people living with HIV and key populations, including gay men and other men who have sex with men, sex workers, transgender people, and people who use drugs. From 2010-2021, I was employed at the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) headquarters in London and served as a project director and senior technical adviser.
Recently, I completed the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) programme at LSHTM. My academic journey includes obtaining an MSc in Global Health from the University of Dublin, Trinity College (Ireland), where my dissertation focussed on the impact of migration on the sexual health of migrant men who have sex with men in Dublin, Ireland. I also obtained an Honours BSc in Molecular Biology and Genetics from the University of Guelph (Canada), with a dissertation focussed on characterising a murine alpha 2 macroglobulin gene expressed in reproductive tissue.
My professional journey spans various international roles, encompassing sexual health research with the Gay Health Network in Ireland, programme coordination with the AIDS Committee of Toronto in Canada, HIV programme and policy experience with UNAIDS in Eswatini, and NGO programme development in Mumbai, India. Currently, I am a consultant with the World Health Organization within the Department of Global HIV, Hepatitis and STIs Programmes.
