After studying cognitive sciences at the University of Bordeaux (France), I obtained a MSc in Biostatistics from the Bordeaux School of Public Health in 2010. Then, I moved to Tours (France) to do a PhD on the use of propensity score methods for the analysis of cluster randomised trials, under the direction of Prof Bruno Giraudeau. During this period, I developed a growing interest in causal inference methods to analyse observational data as well as for trial methodology. I joined the department of Medical Statistics in 2015, and since then, most of my research focussed on the use of causal inference methods developed for the analysis of real-world data to improve the design and analysis of trials, and the application of the rigorous methodology of trials to improve the transparency and quality of observational research.
Besides methodological research, I am involved in applied project with researchers from the Electronic Health Records group at LSHTM, and I have also been working closely with the Inequalities in Cancer Outcomes Network (Department of Health Services Research and Policy) on the application of causal inference methods, including emulated trials, to understand and tackle cancer inequalities in the UK.
