I currently work at LSHTM as an Assistant Professor in the Environmental Health Group which is the focus of the School's work on water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and health, and includes approximately 30 researchers and support staff working on range of research areas.
For the last five years, I have been working on the evaluation of WASH interventions in humanitarian crises. I have a particular interest in programme design and how to use both quantitative and qualitative data from existing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to improve programme implementation. My research is focussed on the epidemiology of WASH related diseases including cholera and undernutrition, collaborating with a range of implementing organisations and multilateral agencies including M茅decins Sans Fronti猫res (MSF), Action Contre La Faim (ACF) and UNICEF.
Prior to joining LSHTM, I have worked as a programme manager for non-governmental organisations (NGOs) coordinating WASH, nutrition or HIV/AIDS programmes in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia. I have a BSc in Biology (University of Nottingham), MSc in the Control of Infectious Diseases (LSHTM) and PhD in Epidemiology and Population Health (LSHTM).
