Kwabena is an Epidemiologist at the Department of Non-Communicable Epidemiology, Faculty of Epidemiology and Population Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He works with the Brain Health study group under the Electronic Health Records group. His current reserach with Professor Charlotte Warren-Gash includes studies related to infections, brain health and frailty during old age in the Clinical Practice Research Database in the UK and the Veterans Administration in the US. His research interests include using robust causal inference methodology to estimate causal effects of interventions and exposures from observational data to inform Public Health decision making.
He holds a PhD in Public Health from University of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban, South Africa. His PhD research focused on contributing evidence to inform targeted interventions and healthcare policy to improve STI care in limited resource and HIV endemic settings in Sub-Saharan Africa.
